The question of all questions

»Which programming language do you prefer?«

Some developers regard this question as a matter of religion, but I regard this topic with much less emotions. You can write good and bad software (regarding structure, extendability, comprehensibility, or the final result) in almost any language – sometimes easier with the one, sometimes a bit more difficult with the other. With one language, you may develop faster but it becomes more difficult maintaining the result, with another you might have to invest more time at the beginning but can later extend it more easily.

I think: The choice of language depends on the current project. Between those presented here you find some which I developed in Java, C, JavaScript or ActionScript. And I’m even not ashamed of saying that my first steps in programming were taken in Visual Basic (although considering the alternatives available, I prefer not having to use it ever again).
