plippo.de is my personal website. It’s playground, personality show and project site – all in one. On this page you find not only information about the current site but only about its predecessors.
About the 
This little animal is the Oachkatzerl, a squirrel which has been serving as a mascot for plippo.de for a few years by now. Why? Good question. Isn’t it enough to simply note that it’s extremely cuuute?

This was, is and will be my personal website
This website here is the successor of two other sites: It replaces philmerk.de, my previous »private« website, as well as the first version of plippo.de, which used to be the home of my Open Source projects. But after some time, this seperation seemed more and more artificial to me and much content was duplicated, too – so now both is combined in one site at the new plippo.de.
Why do I need a website at all? Tough question. The main reason probably isn’t that I’m so unbelievably important or that there are so many people who are interested in me but the simple fact that it’s a lot of fun for me to create and optimize this page. And I also have to admit that I simply love websites that have been “handcrafted” with passion and prefer them over every boring social network profile page – that’s why of course I need one myself.
The ‘old’ philmerk.de
My first own website consisted of three areas: talk, work and person. The areas’ designs were completely independent of each other, except for a small bar at the top that served as a means to switch between the areas. Almost all of the content of that old site have been ported to my current website.

The ‘old’ plippo.de
After philmerk.de had existed for a couple of years, I started creating a second, parallel website: plippo.de. It was only available in English and was intended to be used as a home for my various design and development projects in the Open Source area, seperated from the more private touch of philmerk.de. Design-wise, an interesting aspect of the first plippo.de was that every page had a different self-made photo as its background.
This site is also still available if you are interested in history: here you can view the first version of plippo.de. Please also note the under construction note on the start page which was there from the first to the last day of this site.
The ‘new’ plippo.de
With the start of 2012, philmerk.de and plippo.de melted and formed this new plippo.de. Now all of the things of which I feel the need to share them with the world (although the world probably thinks differently) are available under one domain and with a common navigation structure. I hope you like this site as much as I like creating and always improving it.
